We’re nearing the end of the year (how did it fly by so fast??). Covid decided to come hang out at the Kocznur residence. Thankfully everyone is recovering nicely. WIP is still alive and kicking. The magic of coffee in a moka pot helps with splashing ink onto paper. Sleep may be lost, social life may take a hit, but the story has to be written.
WIP has undergone a structural change. I realized much of what I had written is perfect for a second book, a part 2. A lot of what had began as shorter stories evolved into longer pieces. That’s not always the case with me. I tend to favor short story telling over writing a novel (not that there’s anything wrong with that, for all you Seinfeld fans out there) but unfortunately publishers don’t share the same sentiment. If you want to be noticed, you’ve got to have a novel or two or thirty or so out there.
Assuming we don’t rush into WWIII, this writer will be plugging away at this literary fornicator of mothers until it is finished and in the hands of a competant agent who will then place it in the hands of a happy publisher.
In addition to that, come January I will be taking part time studies at Brock University in the English and Literary program. Better late than never. I am thoroughly excited for delving into this.
It’ll be a busy year ahead. Here’s to all our goals, dreams, failures and accomplishments.
Cheers to you and to your stories.
Delicious espresso served here. Also, this is where I wrote and published this update.
