Hey guess what? Still working on that WIP (Lakes of the Moon). But in addition to that, I was fortunate enough to be commissioned by an indie podcaster to adapt one of the chapters, “Fantom IX”, into a 10-episode series. Marvelously exciting!
The short story began in 2018 and sits at about 7K-words. I had cut it down and repackaged it for gritLIT’s 2022 short story contest under the title “Delta IV”, which I’m pleased to say was shortlisted that year.
I have a good feeling about adapting this story. Like all the stories in this WIP collection, it is a standalone, but its inclusion here serves to further reveal the mystery of the cosmic horror arc.
A lot of things need to come together to make a podcast – a quality podcast – happen. For my part, I’m adapting the story into what I think will be a smashing script. I’ll post the first four pages on this blog once completed. I’ll also keep you all posted on how production is going, as much as I’m able.
As an aside, attending Brock University has been fantastic. It’s strange to be 34, back in classes, working towards my degree, but I’ll be damned, it’s certainly worth it.
